Special Historic Marker
In addition to the Lawton House Historical Marker we will dedicate Saturday, February 4th, we have also received an older marker on Oviedo that was once housed next to the Memorial Building and installed by the Oviedo Rotary Club in the 1970′s. The marker has been refurbished and installed behind the Lawton House next to Friendship Park so visitors to the park can read about Oviedo’s history. A small add on plaque is under development and will be installed soon reflecting this marker on behalf of the Oviedo Rotary Club from years prior. WATER TOWER We expect to have completed soon a set of engineer plans on the replica water tower for the Lawton House. It will not be an exact replica or a working model but will be very close and yet another important piece of Oviedo History to display at this historic site. et your saws, shovels, and hammer ready for a construction day hopefully sometime this year…
